On the 6th of September 2022, the civil society organization CulturePolis, project coordinator of the TOGETHER organized in the historical building of the Ionian Parliament in Corfu, Greece the «Conference for The Promotion of Intercultural Dialogue in Local Communities».

The event was addressed to local actors and decision-makers of the Island and took place with the presence of all project partners as a celebration of their 2-years collaboration and the completion of the TOGETHER.

At the first place, the project coordinator, Xanthippi Kontogianni from CulturePolis introduced the participants to the TOGETHER providing information on the context, the main objectives, the consortium, and the funding program, Erasmus +. Following that, Vaia Kyratzouli, project manager of IED Cyprus presented the results of the transnational project research conducted in the framework of the first intellectual output, the Comparative Analysis Report. After, Thodoris Karagiorgos from EWORX and Xanthippi Kontogianni from CulturePolis analyzed together the 2nd the 3rd intellectual output which are the main educational outcomes – the Ambassadors Curriculum and the TOGETHER E-Toolbox. Finally, a short presentation of the IO4 – Intercultural Dialogue Guidebook was given.

Apart from the promotion of the project’s outputs, the members of the project team from CulturePolis and partner organisations from Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Georgia and Lebanon as well as invited experts from Albania shared knowledge, experiences and lessons learned through their two-year cooperation. Particular emphasis was given to the studies that need to be done in order to strengthen the role of local actors in the process of understanding cultural diversity and the idea of creating a network of "ambassadors" (mediators) of intercultural dialogue was discussed.

The event concluded with an open discussion and was followed by a small reception in the open-air area of the Ionian Parliament.
